Although it just came down at peak of Mt.Seorak, it means winter is very near from now.

As the weather becomes colder, the ski resorts are busy for preparing their ski season.
They can make ski slopes artificially with their snow making machine as long as the weather is cold
enough.

The informations of opening dates are also very important to tourists who are planning to enjoy
their holidays in Korea by enjoyng skiing.

So, we prepare the opening dates of ski resorts in Korea :)
                          

 

 

1. Daemyeong Vivaldi Park Ski Resort ( 11. 18 )

 Vivaldi Park is perhaps the most popular among the younger crowds as it lies about an hour by road from Seoul and provides free shuttle bus. Also located adjacent is Ocean World, one of the most famous water parks in Korea. Best option if you are just coming for snow-watching, not serious skiing or snowboarding. In addition, there will be fantastic ski coach team JSKI can give you lesson.


2. Alpensia Ski Resort ( 11. 18 )

Your favorite winter athletes will be staying here. Alpensia may be scheduled as the main resort for athletes during the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Alpensia can be a heaven for beginners and intermediates, who can practice and perfect their skills at this relatively quieter resort. The resort and the overall ambiance is quite impressive.
There will be also JSKI ski instructors to have lesson with you.


3. Yongpyong Ski Resort  ( 11. 10 )

Yongpyong is great for every kind of skier. Some 28 slopes offer terrific variety. Among the various slopes, the Rainbow, Gold and Mega Green slopes are the most popular, and cover most of the three mountains overlooking the resort. As it is one of the widest slopes in Korea, beginners can worry less about crashing into other skiers. The slope is also relatively one of the easiest, as it is slanted at only 12 degrees.


4. High 1 Ski Resort ( 11 . 18 )

The purest powder in the country.
The best feature about the relatively new High1 Resort, which is abour four hours’ drive from Seoul, is the snow.
Fun fact: Kangwonland Casino, located within the resort, is the only casino in the country where Koreans are allowed to play.


5. Phoenix Park ( 11. 11 )

Pheonix Park offers the most extensive selection and ski/snowboard instruction for novice skiers; it also provides various practical courses for riders at any level. Many Korean universities send students for group events and ski classes as the venue is famous for its impeccable handling of large groups, and because of the accessibility of restaurants, shops and rooms, even with massive crowds.



6. Konjiam Ski Resort ( 11 . 26 )

The biggest strength of Konjiam Resort is that it only admits a certain number of skiers every day, capping visitor numbers at 7,000. With this limit, the resort promises that the queues will not take more than 15 minutes.


7. Elysian Gangchon Ski Resort ( 11 . 19 )

The Elysian Gangchon Ski Resort, with its multitude of ski slopes, is a great destination for skiers of all abilities. The resort is located within a beautiful valley, and skiers can enjoy a panoramic view of the natural scenery while gliding down the slopes.

Whether you choose to go down the beginner, intermediate, or advanced slopes, everyone can enjoy a 1 km-long run. Intermediate and beginner skiers can reach the mountain peak rest area on the B lift. A separate beginner’s slope is also available to be used as a practice slope.

8. Muju Ski Resort ( 11 . 26 )

The site of many a Korean drama. Along with Yongpyong, the Muju Deukyusan Resort is one of the biggest ski and snowboard resorts in the country, with long slopes for everyone, interesting layout and impressive facilities.

The vacatoion season is coming !

As the season is coming, many Families are planning to go to Korea for enjoying their vacation.

As you know, the capital of Korea is Seoul. And Seoul is one of the most famous place for tourists

                                                           Gyeongbokgung Palace

 It was in 1395, three years after the Joseon Dynasty was founded by King Taejo (Yi Seong-gye), when the construction of the main royal Palace was completed after the capital of the newly founded dynasty moved from Gaeseong to Seoul (then known as Hanyang). The Palace was named Gyeongbokgung Palace, the "Palace Greatly Blessed by Heaven." With Mount Bugaksan to its rear and Mount Namsan in the fore ground, the site of Gyeongbokgung Palace was at the heart of Seoul and, indeed, deemed auspicious according to the traditional practice of geomancy.

Insa-dong is very priceless place for Korea because it has many traditional things.

The streets are combined like puzzles and there are many stores in each streets. You can see lots of

traditional clothes, accessories, furnitures, ornaments, etc. It is the most popular place for foreigners

to buy souvenirs. Feeling tradtion in the middle of the city is such a gorgeous experience !        

 

                                                                   

                                         Korea Traditional Village (Buckchon-Hanok)

 

 Buckchon-Hanok village is the place you can see Korean traditinal house style. It is also in the midde of Seoul and near from other places to sightsee. There are 8 photo zones where you can get good pictures, so it is very famous place not only for foreigners but for local Korean. You can also see many high buildings in Seoul. If you want to experience special thing just Seoul has, you have to visit here !

 

 

                                                                  Myeong-dong

 

Myeong-dong is the most famous place as the place of shopping.

There are thousands of foreing people so crews of stores even use more foreign language

than Korean.

All of famous brands are located in Myeong-dong so people who want to do shopping.

Not only shopping, also eating street food is very popular for tourists.

 

                                                                   Dongdae-Moon

 

Dongdae-moon is also favorite place for shopping and eating. It is very near from Myeongdong, so many tourist enjoy both. The difference is that Myeongdong has more fancy brand-clothes and Dongdaemoon has reasonable personal shops more. Nowadays, DDP is built and it is very famous as LED roses. It is very recommended to take beautiful pictuers for couples and families.

Yeah, it was true. Korea was strong only for just a little events like short track.
But now, Korea also has real ski jump tower !!

SKI TOUR SKI LESSON - Tour Korea at Winter

In Korea, the temperature is going down more and more.
The weather center noticed that today is the first day when the ice is frozen.
It means , finally, winter is coming !!

 Many tourists who has children in vacation are coming to Korea for traveling.
Korea has many attractive places for tourists; Myeong-dong in Seoul where many tourists
come to buy various things, Insa-dong in Seoul where foreign travelers can feel Korean traditional
culture, Jeju island one of the most famous places for traveling.

Most of all, Korea has many fancy ski resorts, so many tourists from South-East Asia like Singapore,
Hongkong, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Philiphine, etc.

For them, seeing snow and playing on the snow are very interesting in itself.
In addition, taking ski lesson also can be attractive activity for them because it helps them enjoy
skiing definetely and safely.

After enjoying ski enough, what will you do?
It is the question what I usually ask to my students who take ski lesson.
The answers are, of course, various from shopping in Seoul to hiking Mt.Seorak in Sokcho.
Many of them asked me to recommend where they should go for experiencing Korean tradition.

And then, I often recommended this place ; Woljeongsa Temple.
This Temple is very near from Yongpyeong and Alpensia ski resort where many tourists come.

This Woljeongsa Temple is one of the biggest temple in Korea.
Also it has "Temple Stay" program so many foreign tourists come to the temple and experience.

So, don't worry about  "Ok...I want to go to Korea for ski, but..after ski, what can we do?"
