Are you looking for ways to maximize your efficiency while taking ski lessons? We want to share with you four easy steps that help you get the most out of your lessons. During the wintertime, a lot of people go skiing. For some, it may be their first time. Because ski lessons are limited in time and can be expensive compared to other sports, it's important to learn as much as you can during your lesson! Keep reading to learn the four easy yet important steps that will get you on your way to becoming a better skier quickly.
Step 1: Be on time
The ski instructors often have a tight schedule. If their lesson time slots are all full, they need to be on the go constantly to make it from 8:30 to 16:30. Therefore, even if the students are late, they must end the class on time in order to make it to their next lesson. For example, if students are thirty minutes late to their 12:30 to 14:30 lesson, the lesson still ends at 14:30 to avoid further complications.
To prepare unexpected things, we recommend that you get to the ski area at least thirty minutes early for equipment and clothing rental and lesson preparation in order to save time. Because rental shops have longer wait times during the peak of the ski season, there may be lines you have to wait for what you need. If it is your first time and you need extra assistance with equipment and clothing, we recommend that you get to the ski area an hour before the lesson.
Step 2: Watch videos online to prepare ahead of time
Videos about skiing that were available online in the past were often lackluster and boring. These days, there are so many helpful videos on YouTube for beginner skiers. You can search “Ski Lessons” or “Beginner Ski Lesson” to find videos that are super helpful. If you can watch videos about how to put on ski boots and skis, stopping positions, and other first-time questions people may have before skiing, it can be surprisingly helpful. You can spend just thirty minutes either the day before your lesson or on your way to the ski area, and you will be able to get a head start!

Step 3: Communicate with your ski instructor on the ski lift
Taking the ski lift back up to the top of the slope doesn’t have to be a waste of time. Our instructors at JSKI talk about things to improve and new things you will be learning on the way up. You can also look down to see other skiers’ movements with a bird’s eye view to find good examples. We think this time is great for recapping and preparing!
Step 4: Get Feedback from your instructor
JSKI makes sure to provide feedback after the lesson to help you the next time you ski. We go over the things you did well and also give you a list of things you can work on. It’s important to practice on your own and think about everything you learned about to make sure you improve your skills. Just skiing and skiing while thinking about your technique have big differences.
